MINHAJUL Quran International (MQI) will hold 27th annual Miladun Nabi (SAW) conference on Tuesday night (tonight) at Minar-e-Pakistan to mark the birth anniversary celebrations of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
Addressing a press conference at Minar-e-Pakistan on Monday, MQI Deputy secretary General and head of Milad management committee Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz said all arrangements for the moot had been completed. He said one million people from across the country and other parts of the world were expected to participate in it.
He said the keynote address at the conference would be delivered by MQI chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri from Canada. He said the moot would also be addressed by other noted scholars who would project the true image of Islam being a religion of peace, love and humanity; and that Islam could be a watershed against the forces of terrorism and extremism. He said that the conduct of Milad conferences in an age of depression, narrow-mindedness and anxiety would prove very fruitful to eliminate these negatives forces. Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz said that 50 administrative committees had been set up to make all preparations. Five thousand youths of Mustafvi Students Movement and Minhaj Youth League would be deputed for security purpose inside and around the venue. He said separate seating arrangements have been made for men and women. The camps have been set up at different entry points of Lahore to welcome the incoming caravans of people and guide them along the route.
Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz said that like practice years, 1,000 goats would be slaughtered and the Milad feast would be open for the general public from 7 pm to 9 pm. The programme would be telecast live in over 90 countries of the world through internet. He said that hundreds of people would join MQI on the occasion. He said rallies and meetings were already being organized throughout the country to welcome the Rabi-ul-Awwal. He said the Durood recited at the Gosha-e-Durood during the last years would be sent on the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said those associated with MQI would hold feasts and decorate their houses to celebrate the occasion. Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri, Jawad Hamid, GM Malik, Raja Jamil Ajmal, Shamim Numberdar, Sajid Bhatti, Irshad Tahir, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam and fifty heads of the sub-committees were also present.
