NSW: Thieves get away with $100,000 worth of tools

SYDNEY, Aug 21 AAP - More than $100,000 worth of power tools were stolen from a Sydney
business over the weekend, two weeks before Fathers' Day.

Police said the tools had been stolen from a Sutherland store between 5.30pm on Friday
and 8am on Saturday.

"The offenders disabled a security system and gained access to the premises via a rear
door," Detective Senior Constable Greg Howe said.

"The thieves were able to get away with a large selection of tools which included well-known
brands such as Bosch, Makita, Ryobi, Festo and Protool."

The getaway vehicle - a large pantech truck or van - hit a pole, causing one of its
side mirrors to fall off.

The public should be suspicious of cheap tools being offered with Fathers' Day fast
approaching, Detective Howe said.
