Qld: Nurses get a pay rise tomorrow

BRISBANE, April 1 AAP - More than 20,000 Queensland nurses in more than 400 public
hospitals and other health facilities will receive a 3.5 per cent pay rise tomorrow.

The rise was the second instalment of rises agreed to under the Queensland Health enterprise
bargaining agreement, Queensland Nurses Union secretary Gay Hawksworth said.

The first rise of three per cent was paid on April 1 last year.

Ms Hawksworth said nurses would get an extra $20 to $40 a week depending upon their
classification.
